Moe's Third Session: May 18, 2002

For more than two years, Moe lived as a caged chimpanzee at the Wildlife Waystation Sanctuary. I occasionally read news reports of the legal battles that St. James and LaDonna Davis fought with the town of West Covina to bring Moe home. At one point, 8000 residents signed a petition insisting that the town allow Moe to come home. However, the town continued to fight his return.

Moe’s call came on a perfect Spring day.
“I just wanted you to know I won’t need to call anymore. Everything’s finally been resolved. I’m going to live like a grown-up human being.”
“You’re going home?” I asked.
“Even better. St. James and LaDonna outdid themselves. As a settlement of the lawsuits, the town has agreed to build me a house. It’s going to be all my own.”
“That sounds very nice.”
“Nice? It’s fantastic. I can’t wait to take a shower - in my own bathroom. And LaDonna and St. James will be able to spend most of their time with me.”
“So, you leave your chimpness behind?”
“I get to act like a human being again. Even the town has agreed that I’m not wildlife.”
“Can you go outside?”
“I don’t know all the details. I just know it’s going to be terrific. It almost makes the last two years worth it.”
“I hope it measures up to your expectations.” I said cautiously.
“Well, thanks for being there when I needed someone to talk with. I’ve got to start planning the decorations.”

Sounds more like Hallucination to me, but I think as long as it works it might be wonderful to follow anyways!

We sure can learn a lot from others experiences and this makes it easy to solve our problems too.
